Starting out as a Japanese manga, Death Note has been adapted into an English-language film by Netflix and, today, premiered their teaser trailer.
The live-action adaptation of Death Note will premiere on August 25th. The new Netflix move stars Nat Wolff as Light Yagami, Margaret Qualley as Miss Amane, Keith Stanfield as L, Willem Dafoe as Ryuk, and Shea Whigham as Souichiro Yagami. The new live-action adaptation has been directed by Adam Wingard.

The storyline for Death Note grapples with gray-area morality. It follows a high schooler named Light Yagami (Wolff) who stumbles across a notebook that can kill anyone whose name is written in it; he becomes a vigilante for justice and starts using it to wipe out criminals.
The anime version of Death Note spans 37 episodes, each running a little over 20 minutes each, whilst Netflix have yet to confirm the running time of the 2017 live-action adaption.
