After the success of the 2016 studio album ‘Hopelessness’, ANOHNI marks a return with the latest musical offering ‘Paradise’. A six-track EP due out on March 17th 2017 via Secretly Canadian.

British-American artist ANOHNI, stage name for Antony Hegarty, captivated critics last year with the release of her debut LP, ‘Hopelessness’. The album saw Hegarty explore electronic soundscapes, which were charged by political and environmental protest songs. Like ‘Hopelessness’, the latest offering is a positioned for “activist conversations” and political issues including corporations, religion, and declining biodiversity, according to the label press release. ‘Paradise’ also sees Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke return at the helm of production in a collaborative effot with Hegarty.

Along with the EP announcement, ANOHNI shared a statement addressing the current political and environmental climate, writing that President Donald Trump and his cabinet are not equipped to deal with the global crisis we are now facing.

“More profound even than a crime against humanity, fathers and sons now compulsively prepare to commit ecocide, in a final and irreversible assault upon creation itself”, she said. “Only an intervention by women around the world, with their innate knowledge of interdependency, deep listening, empathy and self-sacrifice, could possibly alter our species’ desperate course.”
