Rock and roll legend Chuck Berry has sadly passed away aged 90, police in US state of Missouri report.
Chuck Berry, with his indelible guitar licks, did as much as anyone to define rock ’n’ roll’s potential and attitude in its early years.
Unfortunately, as reported by St. Charles County Police Department in Missouri, the musician sadly passed away on Saturday (03/18) aged 90. Berry was found unresponsive and, despite the department conducting lifesaving measures, they were unsuccessful.
Berry’s seven-decade career boasted a string of hits, including classics like ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ and ‘Johnny B Goode’. He also received a lifetime achievement Grammy in 1984 and was among the first inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
RIP Chuck Berry. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.
