The relationship of Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill may have been a damper on her friendship with Drake, we can all remember the feeble diss tracks, but the newly-single songstress now looks to be getting the Young Money band back together.
On February 1st, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to share a captionless selfie of her and Drake. Whilst the ‘Hotline Bling’ hitmaker is currently touring Europe as a part of his ‘Boy Meets World’ adventure, the photos, according to TMZ, were taken in Miami on January 12th 2017. The Canadian rapper reportedly called up Mack Maine, President of Young Money Records, after seeing the Minaj and Lil’ Wayne ESPN segment.
Reported to TMZ, the Young Money convention was apparently a “peace summit” and any talks of the trio uniting for a collaborative track has yet to be confirmed.
In the past, their has been previous Young Money collaborations, particuarly with Minaj and Drake. The duo have clocked in several features like 2009’s ‘Best I Ever Had (Remix)’, 2010’s ‘Up All Night’ and ‘Moment 4 Life’, 2011’s ‘Make Me Proud’, 2014’s ‘Only’ as well as 2015’s ‘Truffle Butter’.
On his 2010 debut, ‘Thank Me Later’, the Toronto rapper shared his feelings about Minaj on the track, ‘Miss Me’: “I love Nicki Minaj / I told her I’d admit it / I hope one day we get married just to say we f–king did it / And girl I’m f–king serious / I’m with it if you with it / ‘Cause your verses turn me on and your pants are mighty fitted”.
Also, do not forget that time Nicki gave Drake a lap dance in her ‘Anaconda’ video.
This Young Money reunion could equate to new music, perhaps on Drake’s ‘More Life’ project, Nicki Minaj’s upcoming album, or Lil Wayne’s trio of releases: ‘Future’, ‘Tha Carter V’, and ‘Funeral and Dedication 6’; this has yet to be confirmed.
